Birth, Death & Marriage Certificate Application
Effective January 1, 2026, the Imperial County Clerk-Recorder will implement updated fees for certified copies of vital records. Pursuant to Assembly Bill 64, a $2.00 fee increase is applicable to the cost of certified copies of birth, marriage and death certificates. For more information regarding fee increases, visit here.

Visit VitalChek to place online order for birth, death and marriage certificates. You must print the sworn statement, notarize certificate of acknowledgment and fax to (442) 265-1091.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: VitalChek is the only company authorized by Imperial County to provide this service. Please exercise caution as other internet vendors may charge additional fees without providing County approved services.
All certificates are delivered via standard regular mail. This service does not include tracking. The County Of Imperial is not responsible for the delivery of mail by the United States Post Office or any other delivery service. The County is not responsible for certificates lost, stolen or delayed in the mail. If requiring a trackable delivery service, please include a pre-paid, self-addressed envelope with a tracking number when submitting your application.
